Artist Of The Week - Louis Daguerre

This image is very demonstrative of Louis Daguerre’s works because it is a Daguerreotype, one of the first forms of photography inventive, made with a copper plating and captured using a small aperture lens. The lady in this photo seems quite serious and has a hair style unbeknownst to modern people, however the photo is a very common representation of a portrait-type picture in the past and many family’s began to hold these types of photographs when photography first became popular.

Louis Daguerre invented Daguerreotypes in 1839 and sold the process used to the French government, in this image of Louis, a solemn expression, classical hairstyle, upper-class suit, and bushy mustache characterize his 19th century fashion.

Triangle Of Exposure

Depth of Field - Using the distance between near and far objects to focus onto a reasonably sharp and clear image

Motion Blur - Looks like a streak, results from trying to take an image (single frame) of a rapidly moving element, it can also be due to long exposure.

Noise and Light Sensitivity - Light sensitivity is the amount of light a photograph contains when the camera takes a snapshot, measured by the camera’s ISO setting, the noise sensitivity is the amount of variation in color and brightness information of images usually due to camera sensors and settings.
